Medical Services

Medical Consultations:

We offer private GP consultations with an experienced GP, each appointment is booked for 15 minutes, if you feel you would like more time with the doctor, please let us know when you book the appointment and charges can be adjusted accordingly. The practice provides the whole range of GP medical services.

We see a number of individuals who either live or work in the centre of Birmingham, we also see patients who travel from further afield who are looking for a second opinion on a specific medical problem or who desire a bit more time with a doctor.

You can be assured of a high degree of confidentiality; clinical details are not kept on computer.

Travel Vaccinations:

Newhall Medical Practice is a registered Yellow Fever centre, the doctors can give advice on the full range of travel vaccinations including Yellow Fever, Meningitis, Meningitis ACWY, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Varicella Zoster, Typhoid, Tick-borne Encephalitis, Rabies, Pneumococcal, MMR, Influenza (Flu), Diphtheria, Tetanus and Polio.

We work in conjunction with the advice given on the website of the National Travel Health Network and Centre (www.nathnac.org) and other sources of up to date travel advice. Indeed, before booking an appointment with us for travel vaccinations we would strongly recommend that you visit the nathnac website that will give you very comprehensive advice on risk assessment, travel vaccinations, anti-malarial tablets and general advice on how best to keep safe and healthy at your destination.

Flu Vaccinations:

We can provide vaccination against seasonal flu for individuals and we can also attend an office or factory to offer easy and convenient vaccination to a whole workforce.

Seasonal flu vaccine normally protects you against the 3 most likely strains of flu virus that are likely to be around in the winter, it can be a highly effective way of preventing flu in individuals and in the workforce.

Human Papillomavirus (Cervical Cancer Prevention)

We can supply and administer Cervarix and Gardasil, both vaccines can protect against the development of cervical cancer and other conditions caused by the human papillomavirus.

Health Screening:

This normally entails a one hour appointment with a Newhall Doctor who will take a full history including past medical history and family history. You will then have a full physical examination and a blood test will be taken for kidney and lung function, cholesterol and other appropriate tests. Finally, the Doctor will write to you once the blood test result are received giving you a full summary of the physical findings and recommendations for the future. ECGs and Exercise ECGs are rarely indicated but can be arranged if necessary.
